Aluf

Aluf
Aluf is the project of Dimitri Papadimitriou, who besides a long and weird last name, has a tendency of disliking almost every form of working. Instead he prefers to create cheerful tunes, mainly by using jazz, instrumental and home-made samples, structured in such a way, that the listener can enjoy while driving to work, as well as in night clubs, in bed, or whilst boiling an egg. Since he was born in 1983, he has tried dj-ing, high-jumping, studying biology and other similar activities, none of which led him anywhere whatsoever. For some years now, he has mysteriously been undertaken with music production mainly because he finds the creation process to be more fascinating than wine and sex, and partly because he can smoke instead of read or train for long hours. Thus, by using only software and midi controllers (at least for the time being), he tries to give old music a modern structure. He achieves this by blending thoughts and feelings with tiny snips and snaps which, in their turn, are extracted and used via the method of micro-sampling and mixed with synthesized melodies. This process usually takes place under the influence of movies, burgers, or soccer and its aim is to deliver a sound pallet that tries to be as variable as the modern age we live in.

Davem

Davem
His enthusiasm and the constant research of new ways of communication make him venture into graphic art and painting, preferring primitive and essential signs, sometimes inspired from a frail and tortuous inner exploration. Soul sounds become deeper through this intimate and personal path, and a need for livening they up prompted him to research new sounds. He grows up with jazz, blues, acid jazz, funk, trip hop, he starts to compose without inspiring to any particular artist , and using just its impulse, ironically defined “Davem’s belief” by his friends, expression which means a strongly personal artistic and music genre.

Paradroid

Paradroid
born by his mechanical mother heidi wl-5 as maximilian wendling, paradroid is digitally yours since 1971. he absolved trainee lessons in matchbox car driving and 24 hour non-stop quartet playing as well as space pilot training including 3 D fractal error frequency listening - a performance finding it´s prophecy in searching for the aural jesus. in 1995 he sold his matchy 500 drivers license and started a career as sonic cowboy penetrating the eustachian tubes of mankind in partnership with two technics 1210 and a mixing console. since then he was DJing various styles of electronic music in several clubs in germany like SCHICK & schön (mainz), basement (wiesbaden), fusion-club (münster), nature one (kastellaun), club camouflage (cologne), rotari (offenbach), space-place (frankfurt), palazzo (bingen), u 60311 (frankfurt), nomono (wiesbaden), groove city (mainz), quadrat (giessen), rotor-club (chiemsee), radio hr-xxl (frankfurt), radio-x (frankfurt) and other places. in 2002 he started producing music supported by digital warfare and heavy DSP armament. paradroid’s music - of course - doesn’t pretend to be as valuable as a ming dynasty vase. compared to vases however (wal-mart or ming doesn’t matter in this case) – it shows one tiny but significant difference: it can bounce without being destroyed. But as a friend of noble porcelain he allows himself baronesque behaviour without any bashfulness or embarrassment. nevertheless his music also invites semi-professional bananastate-listeners to do whatever they want to do with it. as you can see... this is a serious mission !!!

Sr.Replicante

Sr.Replicante
Sr. Replicante also known as Jason Carich Profession: Architect - DJ - Producer Age: 35 years old His beginnings as a DJ go up to the end of the 80's, in Buenos Aires, spreading several alternative electronic music styles across the years. At the end of 2001, Argentina turned to be a country where the political and social conflicts made everything to get a bit gloomy... Among other things that at a human level were more important, the local under scene tumbled down! It was and introspective period for him at a personal level, and also at an artistic level... As a way of escaping and reaction to his surroundings, he started to produce his own material, just to share it with a reduce group of people. Sr. Replicante was born. This time lapse, which meant an ideal creative period, it was also significant to many artists, DJ's, musicians and designers of Argentinean electronic culture. Today, in 2006, just 5 years later from that emotional time and emotional scar that initiated him as a producer and thanks to the interaction and influence of ideological partners from his country, he feels also involved in a process of continuous search, trial and experimentation, and also differentiation. Since Sr. Replicante is emerging, and at the same time belongs to a redesigning stage...

Tom Ellis

Tom Ellis
After his introduction into the scene with his first release on Mindtours, MT06 in 2004, Tom went on to set up and co-run his own label Trimsound with his good friend Leif. After a couple of releases with Trimsound and Mindtours he started releasing on Morris/Audio citysport with the "Trimstyle" records, a series of split ep's with Leif showing off their trademark funked up minimal house style. In 2005 Tom's "day after yesterday" ep on the French label Logistic Records, showed us a warmer, jazzier side of his production and led onto the Trimsound remix of Minimono's 'ndiki' track on Telegraph, which was a collective effort by Leif, Tom and his brother Joe. Tom also founded Minordust, the sister label of Trimsound, which is a free netlabel dedicated to providing after-party music. This led to the birth of Ekkis, Tom's project name for his downtempo productions, giving him a chance to experiment without the boundaries and constrictions that are imposed on writing music for the dancefloor. His music has now spread worldwide and is being played by some of the top names in the scene; Akufen, Richie Hawtin, Daniel Bell, Magda and Zip are just a few dj’s that have been spotted playing Tom's records. Now represented world wide by the Moon Harbour agency, Bookings Quaas, Tom plans to spend more time DJing and putting his years of hard work in the studio onto the dancefloors of the world. He is becoming well known for his unique sets of 99% original material, and performing the Trimsound Live show with Leif, using live sequencers, bass guitar and percussion to create live remixes and jams of deep and funky minimal house. Releases on: Trimsound, Minordust, Mindtours, Morris/Audio citysport, Floppy Funk, Logistic, Telegraph, Archipel, Adagio, Moon Harbour, Frankie, Hartchef Discos, Tonimusic, SixoneSix, True to Form, Spontan Musik
